I have been experimenting a fair bit with different possibilities for non-photorealistic rendering.  This video shows a few of those experiments.

This is a little experiment I did in VVVV, mapping the colours from a southpark episode to a 16×16 voxel grid.

I discovered that you can use plastic bags/dropsheets and a hair straightening iron to make your own inflatable forms.  This star shape was my first attempt.

A little while ago I got interested in the idea of volumetric displays and did up a prototype of a potential projection surface.  It used a shop-vac and some pvc to suspend some ping-pong balls mid-air.  Eventually I wanted to develop this into a grid of ping-pong balls which I could control the height of using valves, and project on to control the colour.

Scratchy Roads was a little experiment I did while learning VVVV.  A dm2 controller allows you to scratch different parts of a single video file, allowing you to create temporal strangeness.

This is an experimental video I made by taking the lens off of a webcam and exposing it to a variety of light sources, from computer monitors to lasers. The soundtrack was made by opening the video file as an audio file.
